Bay Area culture: the best is L.A.S.T.

The Life, Art, Science and Technology (L.A.S.T.) Festival is a 3-day celebration of human creativity and discovery, a symposium with visionary artists, luminary scientists, and revolutionary technology.

Held in Stanford University's prestigious Cubberley Auditorium, the entire festival is interactive, from tech demos to dozens of high-tech art installations. 

Speakers include:

*Peter Norvig, Director of Research at Google, on Artificial Intelligence
*Chris McKay, Chief Planetary Scientist at NASA, on space exploration
*Jennifer Dionne, Director of Stanford University's Nanotech Lab, on nanotechnology
*Bruno Olshausen, Director of UC Berkeley's Redwood Center for Theoretical Neuroscience, on neuroscience
*Melanie Swan, founder, Institute for Blockchain Studies, on Bitcoin and the crypto-economy
*Ken Goldberg, Director of UC Berkeley's People and Robots Initiative, on robotics

The event is FREE and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC, though donations to support L.A.S.T. and the artists are greatly appreciated.
