Not to be missed. His bold black expressions of Tar on canvas embroider a deep personal vision, giving meaning to form.

The show titled Bold Expressions reflects on the artist personal struggle for meaningful connections in an overcrowded world of information and complexity. The exhibition will include Mobiles and Paintings.

On the walls.
Paintings in Tar: Layered with fabric, the Tar is applied in its molten state (380 deg) directly on to the Canvas. “ the tar is unforgiving in the same way events can change your life permanently, once its applied you can’t change it. Every piece is one of a kind”, artist. The tar, which he applies with a blow torsh is thick and it changes depending on the light, at times the tar is so black that is absorbs all the light around it and yet at other times it seems to glow with light from inside.

Hanging from the ceiling.
Aluminum mobiles; We will also be 5 of his recent hanging sculptures. His unique approach to mobiles as hanging sculptures is a major departure from “drawings in space” aproach by Alexander Calder. Boback’s lightweight geometric expressions of form and balance hang effortlessly in space. They are suspended in perfect balance and yet as they move mysteriously with the wind they chime melodically delighting both the eye and ears.

About the artist:

Originally trained in Architecture, Boback discovered his creative calling in the world of sculpture. His interest in natural material and his utilization of space as a material in his work can be seen in his metal sculptures and Tar paintings.
Guided by his personal experience he creates works of art which express his internal grappling with memory and place. His compositions express a powerful geometric language, which incorporates both the void and the form. There is an inherent yearning for a sense of belonging and connection that is evident in all his work especially his public sculptures in Europe and the United States.
Whether he is working on a monumental stainless steel sculpture or a intimate painting his focus is on compositional expressions using geometric exuberance as an expression of the world he sees around him.

Boback exhibits his work in galleries in Europe, United States and Mexico. His monumental public sculptures can be seen in places Paris, France, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, and in city’s around California, Colorado, Oregon and Washington.
